[Sermon notes from Boston], 1652-1656.

Manuscript, on paper, in a single hand, of detailed sermon notes on over 100 sermons preached in Boston in Massachusetts Bay between 1652 and 1656, most at Thursday Lectures. 12 were delivered by John Cotton; over 90 were delivered by John Norton, who succeeded Cotton as pastor of First Church. Included are notes on the funeral sermon for Major-General Edward Gibbons, one of the first settlers of Charlestown, who died in December of 1654.
